The Queen will attend events this Easter weekend dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Royal Military College of Music, it was announced today (Thursday).
The large-scale arrangement of music groups was the brainchild of Military Band of The Queen, a not-for-profit organisation which is a registered charity and is sponsored by the Prince of Wales's Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
It consists of the Queen's Royal Lancers (Parade Regiment), Royal Horse Artillery, Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and the Horse Artillery.
The programmes will take place on Easter Sunday at the Royal Albert Hall, in London, on April 4, and at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland on April 6.

In Edinburgh, the initiative will include a rare performance of the Army Band of the Coldstream Guards, which will parade the streets of the city in their distinctive red coats.
The bands will meet at their headquarters in the Argyll Centre in Musselburgh, East Lothian, north of Edinburgh.
They will then travel to the Royal Albert Hall and play a wide-ranging programme on Sunday evening, one-third of which will be dedicated to the Royal Scots and their regimental museum.
Last year, the regimental museum was the subject of its own episode of BBC television series The Antiques Roadshow. It featured the Prince of Wales.
The Argyll Centre is close to the town's famous golf course where Prince Charles is expected to play on April 5.
The military bands will attend an event on Saturday at the nearby Turnberry Resort where the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are hosting a reception for 120 leading figures from the charity world on the 125th anniversary of the Imperial War Graves Commission.
The Prince of Wales's fight against the Irish Republican Army on behalf of his brother, the Duke of Edinburgh, is a key part of the inspiration for Military Band of The Queen.
